One of my plans to re-align Division 1-A college football in order to set up a playoff. 8 conferences with 16 teams in each. Conference champ from each goes then the next 8 teams with best record regardless of conference. The MAC and Sun Belt conference are dropped to 1-AA as are Army and Navy. Traditional rivalries can be preserved with out of conference scheduling (UT-A&M)Usually I am not one for naming conferences and divisions after people but..just for fun. :)

I don't know if Longhorns can handle being part of the "Bud Wilkinson Division", even when it's part of the Darrell Royal Conference.
ReplyDeleteOf course, if you let the guys in Bellmont get ahold of this, they'll want to name it the Taco Bell Division of the University Federal Credit Union Conference.
Other than that, looks pretty good. And it makes sense.
Hence, they won't go for it.
I refuse to be in a division named after Bud Wilkinson. Maybe the Dana Bible or Fred Akers Division.
ReplyDeleteAnd I just proved Tony's point...
